If you want to experience the atmosphere of childhood, walk along the seabed, to visit the Museum of Miniatures, enjoy all the possibilities of media technologies in D-cinema, then do not miss the opportunity to visit the entertainment center “Duman” on the left bank of Astana.
The Oceanarium of the Center is a unique building located at a distance of more than 3,000 km from the ocean. It is the home to about 2,000 animals, representing over 100 species of marine inhabitants from different parts of the Earth. This was achieved thanks to the unique life-support system that includes a lot of pipes, pumps and filters. The total volume of water in the system is 3 million liters.
The main part of the Oceanarium is the big aquarium, at the bottom of which there is the 70-m glass tunnel. There you’ll have the opportunity to walk on the seabed only a few centimeters away from sharks. Twice a day experienced divers take part in the show “Feeding the Sharks.” In addition to the marine predators the Oceanarium shows piranhas, seahorses, sea anemones, porcupine fish others.
Another very interesting part of the entertainment complex is the 3D-cinema. It features stereo surround screen, special moving capsules with seats inside, excellent sound system as well as various atmospheric and water effects. Even though the realistic overwhelming show lasts only 10 minutes, you will get a lot of emotions, impressions and adrenaline. There you won’t see the latest movies; you can travel back in time and space: return to the dinosaur era, rescue the princess from a medieval dungeon, travel to distant stars or explore the human body from the inside.
For the fans of historic monuments the complex offers its special Dome Space, divided into 4 thematic areas - Kazakhstan, America, Greece and China. Under the large 70-m diameter dome the countries are represented by the copies of various architectural monuments, evidences of historic events, etc. Thanks to that excellent museum one can compare the East and the West both from the point of view the ancient peoples (China-Greece) and the contemporary ones (Kazakhstan-America).
Duman is not just an entertainment complex with lots of attractions, cafes and playgrounds but also the place where social work is carried out to help orphans, disabled children as well as retirees.
